In response to tariff threats by President Donald Trump, Mexico has deployed 10,000 National Guard and Army officers to its northern border. The officers were seen patrolling the border between Ciudad Juárez and El Paso, Texas, with a focus on preventing illegal border crossings and cracking down on smuggling activities.
Masked and armed National Guard members were observed inspecting the border barrier in Ciudad Juárez, uncovering makeshift ladders and ropes hidden in the brush. Similar patrols were also reported near Tijuana, as part of Mexico's efforts to enhance border security.
