Mets DH Daniel Vogelbach flew around the bases to score a run and MLB fans were in awe

Daniel Vogelbach has only played in one game for the New York Mets but it’s safe to say he left a lasting impression in his debut Sunday night and is now a fan favorite at Citi Field.

The Mets acquired Vogelbach in a trade with the Pirates on Friday and he made his first start last night as the DH in a win over the San Diego Padres. He went 1 for 3 at the plate and had fans in awe of his speed when he flew home from second base to score a run in the sixth inning.

Vogelbach, who’s listed as 6 feet and 270 pounds, can fly:

After the game he said of the environment a Citi Field:

“That was awesome,” Vogelbach said after the Mets’ 8-5 victory over the Padres in front of 39,395 at Citi Field. “I don’t know that I have played in an environment like that, at least with the home team. Pretty cool to call it my home field now.”
