Police have charged a 49-year-old woman with drug possession and supply offences after she was allegedly caught driving under the influence of methamphetamine.
About 9.10am on Monday, Hunter Valley Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on the New England Highway near Scone for roadside drug and alcohol testing.
The driver underwent a roadside drug test that allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine.
A secondary oral fluid sample was obtained and will undergo further analysis.
After inquiries, officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found $500 cash, a glass pipe, and 56.6 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The driver was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where she was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and supplying a prohibited drug (an amount greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity).
She was granted conditional bail to appear before Scone Local Court on October 14, 2026, and was given a 24-hour prohibition from driving notice.
