Meta has been testing a feature that allows human contractors to make phone calls on behalf of its new artificial intelligence assistant, Muse, raising questions about how much human involvement is required to deliver the autonomous capabilities promised by the technology giant.

Reuters detailed that internal company posts show the company quietly introduced a system known as a "human concierge," which routes some requests from its AI assistant to trained contractors who complete the calls themselves. The experiment triggered concerns among employees about exposing users' sensitive information to outside workers.
