Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META) has unveiled new realistic metaverse avatars that are nearly indistinguishable from the real life version of the person they represent.

Those avatars could someday be used to speak with deceased loved ones, according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
