A Metropolitan Police officer accused of a catalogue of sexual offences against women across 11 years has denied a raft of new charges including six allegations of rape.

PC David Carrick, who used to work on the Parliamentary estate in Westminster, is now accused of 29 offences against eight women between 2009 and 2020.

He has already denied offences against four women and he is due to stand trial at St Albans Crown Court in April.

Appearing at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday afternoon, Carrick pleaded not guilty to alleged crimes against four more women.

It is said he was controlling and coercive towards one woman, who says she was raped at least six times by Carrick.

The PC is accused of sexual assault by penetration against a woman in 2009, the attempted rape of a third woman in the same year, and an alleged rape of a fourth woman in 2018.

Carrick, a former member of the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, has been held in custody since his arrest last October.

Mrs Justice Cheema Grubb adjourned the case until a further hearing on March 11.

Carrick, from Stevenage, denies 13 counts of rape, five counts of sexual assault, three counts of assault by penetration, three counts of coercive and controlling behaviour, two counts of false imprisonment, one count of attempted rape, one count of attempted sexual assault by penetration and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

He is due to stand trial on April 26.
