The Metropolitan Police faces a “steep budget cliff” at the same time officers are seeing increased levels on violence on London’s streets, the force’s commissioner warned on Thursday.
Sir Mark Rowley said he would be making “many tough choices” in the coming months over staffing levels and resources.
