The Metropolitan Police have apologised to Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle for revealing information pointing to him as the source that led to Lord Mandelson’s arrest.

Sir Lindsay told MPs on Wednesday that he passed information to the Metropolitan Police about Lord Mandelson, after the peer claimed “baseless suggestions” he was a flight risk had led to his arrest this week.
