Thunderstorms will soon be heading for Glasgow and the surrounding area with the dreich weather set to continue.
Despite a sunny weekend we have yet to look forward to, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for North and South Lanarkshire due to the upcoming weather events with the warning coming into force from 1pm until 8pm.
And although Glasgow is not under the current yellow warning, we will still see the lightning.

The thunder and lightning is now in place with BBC Weather experts detailing that locals in Glasgow can expect this to remain until 4pm.
A high chance of precipitation is also said to be expected during this period with the rain carrying on into the evening, stopping around 11pm.
Locations under the weather warning, according to the Met Office expect "heavy showers and thunderstorms likely to cause some disruption to travel."
But what else do they have to say? Here is what you need to know.
Weather warning reason
The Met Office state: "Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms will develop through this afternoon across much of central and eastern areas of Scotland, parts of central, eastern and southeastern England and southern areas of Northern Ireland, before easing during the evening. Where heavy showers develop, 15 mm of rain could fall within an hour and possibly 25-30 mm in 2-3 hours where showers become slow moving, along with lightning and hail."
What to expect
- There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus
