As the weather looks set to take a hot turn this week, we here in the south west are preparing for temperatures to rise into their high 20s and low 30s, thanks to an area of high pressure building from the Atlantic. The start of the week will see sunny and dry days - a sure sign that summer hasn't gone anywhere just yet.
Between Monday and Wednesday (August 8-10) temperatures will be between 27 and 29C in Bristol, Bath and Gloucestershire, while in Somerset temperatures are forecast to not reach above 25C. According to the Met Office, tonight's weather will be dry and clear, with the odd mist patch a possibility towards the end of the night - the minimum temperature will be 12C.
Any mist will quickly clear come Monday, however, leaving another dry and sunny morning as people return to work following a wonderfully sunny weekend. There will be plenty more sunshine in the afternoon, making it feel very warm as the maximum temperature reaches around 28C.
