Met Office predicts overcast weekend for North East ahead of snow and ice next week

The North East is set for a grey and overcast weekend with temperatures remaining in single digits throughout.

Saturday morning could see a bright start though it will be cold and frosty overnight. Rain is likely for much of the rest of Saturday and moving into Sunday.
