More thundery conditions are on the way after Merseyside was hit with heavy rain.
Merseyside was hit with heavy rain and thunderstorms yesterday as a yellow weather warning was in place. The rain was so heavy in parts that it caused flash floods, and one person even had to be rescued from their car.
The woman was pulled from her car, which had become stuck in suddenly rising flood water, by fire crews and she was placed on a raft. Pictures showed the water underneath the bridge had risen to knee height.

The weather warning is not in place for today, July 9, but the Met Office has warned however that we can still expect some thundery conditions and more rain. Today we will likely see some sunny intervals throughout the morning until we get light rain in the afternoon.
Things could turn as we head later in the afternoon and we could see some more thundery conditions from around 4pm onwards. The Met Office suggests: "Scattered showers will break out in the afternoon, potentially turning heavy and thundery at times. Not feeling quite as muggy, although still warm in sunny spells."
The rest of the week appears to be a wet one with temperatures rarely reaching 20C in Liverpool. Looking at the long range, sunshine will return but it looks like the rain will also stay - however it's important to note the forecast changes regularly as new information is updated.
Here's what the Met Office predicts:
Monday:
Another fine and dry start with scattered showers developing through the day which will merge into longer spells of heavy rain during the afternoon, potentially turning thundery at times.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Further showers, these are potentially heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. Some sunny spells in between showers. Turning rather breezy at times too with temperatures around the seasonal average.
From July 13 to July 22
Sunshine and showers the most likely scenario initially, likely fewer and less intense than previous days for some, at least initially, but potentially still heavy and thundery across some northern areas.
This set up likely continues through much of the following week, we're likely to see sunshine and showers quite widely, but these will perhaps merge into longer spells of rain at times, likely heaviest and most persistent in western areas, and some occasionally slow moving storms in the northeast. Thereafter, signals are very weak, but potentially signs of some more settled conditions by the very end of the period.
