People living in Bristol may need to rethink their New Year's Eve and New Year's Day plans as we celebrate and welcome the New Year in. This weekend the Met Office forecasts heavy rain spells as we head into the New Year.
According to Met Office forecasters, we have some rainy days coming up in Bristol - including on New Year's Eve. Today (Thursday), we should see heavy rain intervals throughout the day before the the weather changes to dry but partly cloudy in the early evening. Maximum temperatures of around 8C are forecast.
But definitely don't put your umbrella away, as forecasters predict a rainy start to the day tomorrow with heavy rain changing to cloudy by lunchtime. It will feel slightly warmer tomorrow with the temperatures reaching 12C.

On New Year's Eve, it is set to be cloudy first thing before changing to heavy rain which is predicted to last throughout the majority of the day. According to the Met Office there may be some brighter and drier spells throughout the day.
From around 9pm, more heavy rainfall is forecast with showers continuing into the next morning on New Years Day.
It looks set to be a cloudy start to 2023, before more light rain is predicted at around lunchtime on Sunday. Maximum temperatures of around 10C are predicted.
Forecasters predict Monday to be more settled, with cloudy and sunny intervals expected. Temperatures will stay at a maximum of around 8C.
