The Met Office has spoken out on whether snow will fall next week amid reports that northern parts of the country are set for the white stuff.
After a mild autumn, there has been speculation over whether the first widespread snowfall could hit in November. Weather indicating model WX Charts suggests that parts of northern Scotland could get snow on November 18 and 19.
However, according to the Met Office, it's "too early" to confirm this.
While temperatures are to remain mild through the weekend, they are set to plummet from next week due to low pressures, which are to spread across the UK.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "It really is too early to talk with confidence about snow for the end of next week. However, the weather is looking much more unsettled for next week with temperatures expected to trend down as low pressures cross the UK.
"However, we are seeing very warm temperatures at the moment so although it will be cooler next week it does not necessarily mean it will be cold enough for snow. We are likely to still be in a southerly airflow."
It comes after forecasters issued a yellow wind warning that is set to blast gusts of up to 60mph. Most of the country will see mild rain and cloudy conditions until 3pm on Friday, November 11, with the weather eventually easing across northwest Scotland.
