The Met Office has issued a wind warning for the East Midlands upon the arrival of Storm Dudley.
A yellow warning for "very strong winds" will be in place over Nottinghamshire and the wider region from 3pm on Wednesday, February 16 to 6am the following day.
The Met Office says: "Storm Dudley to bring a spell of very strong winds and a risk of disruption later Wednesday and into the small hours of Thursday."
It says there may be fallen trees, damage to buildings and power cuts may occur.
"There is a chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris," the forecaster added.
The warning is in place from February 16 until February 18 and gusts of wind in Nottingham, according to the latest forecasts, may reach up to 56mph.
Storm Dudley will cross the northern half of the UK Wednesday night into Thursday morning, according to the Met Offiice, while Storm Eunice will bring strong winds and some snow for parts of the country on Friday.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Paul Gundersen, said: “An active jet stream is driving low-pressure systems across the country, both of which are likely to cause some disruption and National Severe Weather Warnings have been issued”.
