Met Office issue Yellow Weather Warning for West Lothian

The Met office have issued a yellow weather warning across West Lothian for today continuing into tonight.

Following on from last week's pair of storms, West Lothian is again set to be battered with strong winds and snow throughout the day.

The Met Office have predicted a dry start to the day, with the afternoon bringing quickly thickening clouds which will bring outbreaks of heavy rain.

The wind conditions have been described as ranging from ‘Strong to Gale force’ southwesterly winds.

The maximum temperature to be reached throughout the day is 9 °C.

Tonight is expected to bring in the cold with snow showers likely, further south in West Lothian might see some clear spells - although icy stretches will likely develop towards the east of the county.

Winds are expected to be southwesterly and ‘brisk’ - meaning cold and strong - with minimum temperatures to fall to -1 °C.

The rest of the week is set to bring cold with occasional bright spells and scattered snow showers, with a chance to become heavy but more than likely will be sleety.

Winds are expected to remain strong into the weekend - with rain also expected to fall on Saturday followed by a dry Sunday.
