Wintry showers and freezing fog could hit parts of Nottinghamshire today and throughout this week, Met Office forecasters have said. Temperatures are expected to remain close to freezing today with a yellow weather warning also issued for this morning in parts of Notts.
The warning for freezing fog and ice was in place from 4pm on Sunday, December 11, and is expected to remain until 11am on Monday, December 12. The warning is for areas including Newark and Worksop. There has also already been a light dusting in parts of Notts including Bingham and Kirkby in Ashfield.

Tonight, December 12, across the East Midlands, weather experts forecast a cold and mostly cloudy day with areas of freezing fog which will be slow to clear, perhaps lingering all day in some spots. There will be Isolated wintry showers possible at times with a maximum temperature 2 °C.
There will be low temperatures this week across Nottinghamshire. Temperatures will reach just 2/3C in Nottingham on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.( December 14, 15 and 16). This Sunday (December 18) the Met Office forecasts predicts ‘light snow’ by late morning.

Cold again with a widespread frost, but dry through Tuesday. Areas of freezing fog slowly clearing, perhaps lingering all day in some spots. Despite this, some sunny spells developing. Maximum temperature 1 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Very cold with widespread frost and freezing fog patches forming overnight, slow to clear by day. Wintry showers near Lincolnshire coasts Wednesday and Thursday.
