Met Office forecasters have warned some wintry showers could hit the East Midlands this week as the weather takes a turn. After bright sunshine and warm temperatures over the Easter weekend, Easter Monday, April 10, is set to be a wet one.
The current forecast for Nottingham today shows rain is due to be with us throughout the day - and it will be at its heaviest by about 11am. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 13C.
On its East Midlands forecast for Monday, the Met Office has also warned thunder could hit some parts of the region. A spokesperson said: "Cloudy and wet at first for all. Rain clearing eastwards from all parts before lunchtime. Rain followed by sunny spells and heavy showers, these perhaps with hail and thunder. Wind strengthening during the morning. Maximum temperature 15C."
Residents are also being warned of more inclement weather to hit the region throughout this week, with strong winds and wintry showers a distinct possibility.
On the outlook for Wednesday through to Friday, the weather agency said: "Wednesday strong winds, heavy rain and showers, these perhaps wintry on higher ground. Thursday sunshine and showers, heavy at times. Wind easing. Mostly cloudy with some rain Friday. Feeling cool."
