The wintery start to March is showing no sign of slowing down with more ice and rain forecast for Wales. The Met Office has issued weather warnings for ice and rain over the next few days with temperatures once again expected to drop below freezing. A yellow warning for ice came into force at midnight on Wednesday March 15 and runs until 8.30am.
The forecaster has also issued a yellow weather warning for rain for large parts of Wales on Thursday, with up to 100mm expected to fall in some parts. Chief forecaster Dan Suri says that an area of low pressure moving eastward has already brought mild and blustery weather for much of England and Wales at the start of the week, and more wet weather is on the way.
He added: “As we head through the second half of the week conditions turn milder, wetter and windier from the west. This change to milder conditions will be preceded by some snow over parts of northern England and Scotland later on Wednesday, mainly over higher ground.”
