The sun has indeed got its hat on again after a week of cooler temperatures and grey clouds which covered the city.
Many may have found themselves getting excited for summer two weeks ago when it looked as if the sun was here to stay - but half term appeared to be a washout as the temperatures decreased yet again. However, as we now get firmly into June, they appear to be hotting up again as BBC Weather suggests we could be seeing temperatures of 26C as early as next week.
The Met Office has previously said temperatures across the UK will rise close to 30C this month as a mini heatwave hits the country - and it is not too far away.

In its UK-wide forecast for a week commencing Thursday, June 8, the Met Office says: "The start of the period will most likely be generally dry and sunny across the UK. However, cloudy with an odd spot of rain in the far north. Clouds should return from the North Sea overnight and move into central and eastern areas and burns away towards the coast each morning...
"Winds expected to be generally light in the North and a little stronger towards the South...Temperatures are expected to be warmer than average but chillier towards the eastern coast."
BBC Weather predicts that Leeds will be seeing highs of 26C just a week from now - with temperatures hotting up as the week goes on. Monday is expected to see temperatures of 21C, but they cool back down again to 19C on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday will see higher temperatures that will continue to rise from 20C, to 21C on Friday, 26C on Saturday and 26C on Sunday. These are expected to continue right through to Friday, June 16, where they will drop - but not too far only to 22C.
The Met Office previously said: “Through this period [June 8 to 22], there is an increasing likelihood that unsettled conditions will slowly begin to extend northward across the UK from the south, with some heavy, thundery showers and longer spells of rain possible.
“The northwest of the UK is likely to experience the driest conditions. Winds are expected to be light, but with stronger sea breezes in some coastal areas at times. Temperatures are most likely to be above average overall, though eastern coastal areas may feel cooler, with a greater chance of onshore winds here.”
