Met Eireann's stunning forecast as Dublin to roast in weekend scorcher

The current hot weather spell is set to continue as Met Eireann has predicted a scorcher of a weekend.

Temperatures will remain in the low twenties for the foreseeable future as we get into September. High pressure will dominate for the next few days bringing dry and warm conditions.

Today will be cloudy with light showery rain. The highest temperatures will be around 16 or 17 degrees.

Tonight will be dry and largely clear and minimum temperatures will range from 7 to 9 degrees.

Tomorrow will be dry with good sunny spells. Temperatures will be around 18 to 20 degrees.

While there is no further forecast for Dublin, here is what the national outlook says:

Saturday night

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Over the following days, there will be decent dry and bright spells with just occasional showers. Daytime temperatures will continue to reach the high teens to low twenties.

Sunday

"Dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in light easterly or variable breezes.

Sunday night

"Dry and clear for most areas. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in light easterly breezes."
