The nights are set to become a lot colder in the coming weeks as Met Éireann predicts a colder than normal end to September.
People will be scrambling to heat their homes at night amid the cost of living crisis as temperatures dip as low as 3 degrees this weekend.
While Friday night will be largely dry except fro a few passing showers, forecasters say it will be "chilly with temperatures generally falling to between 3 and 8 degrees in light northwest winds. Some mist or shallow fog patches may set in later."

Saturday too will start dry with sunny spells and well scattered showers. Saturday night will once again be a cold one with temperatures falling to below 3 and 8 degrees.
Looking to the weekend and early next week, Met Éireann says conditions will turn "cool and blustery with some outbreaks of showery rain."
Sunday will be a cloudier day with more showers across the country.
"It will be rather cool with highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees. Turning breezy later in the day with moderate to fresh westerly winds developing, accompanied by spells of rain during Sunday evening or early Sunday night. Overnight lows of 8 to 11 degrees with brisk west to northwest winds," Met Éireann's latest forecast said.
Monday will be "rather windy with scattered blustery showers" but with some sunny intervals too though.
However, forecasters say it will still feel cool with temperatures staying between 11 to 16 degrees in a brisk northwest wind.
Tuesday will be dry and sunny but once again cool with similar temperatures to Monday.
"Some rain will likely arrive into the southwest later with a few showers clipping northern coasts," the forecast added.
Concluding, Met Éireann said: "Temperatures remaining a little lower than the seasonal norm with mixed or unsettled weather following later in the week."
