Met Eireann says: "Heavy showers or longer spells of rain with thundery downpours in some places may lead to spot flooding."
Despite not being under the official warning, the rest of the country is unlikely to escape the bad weather completely with a horrible weekend in store.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Tomorrow morning will be cloudy, with rain in the west and southwest and patchy light rain or drizzle elsewhere. The rain will move northeastwards across the rest of the country through the afternoon and evening and will be followed by scattered showers. There will be heavy and possibly thundery downpours at times, giving a risk of spot flooding.
"Light southerly winds in the morning will become variable in direction later and increase moderate to fresh in the south and east. There will be strong winds along Munster and Leinster coasts. Highest afternoon temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees.
"Saturday will be a cloudy and wet day with spells of rain and heavy showers. Some of the showers may be thundery. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in a moderate to fresh south to southeast wind.
"A mix of sunny spells and widespread heavy and possibly thundery showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in a moderate to fresh south to southwest breeze."
