Met Eireann has given its current indications for the week ahead, and while rain is set to splash down for most of the weekend, next week will see nicer weather.
Temperatures are forecast to rise to a maximum of 18C throughout the bank holiday weekend, not dropping below 7C any of the nights at the weekend. While sunny spells will be found throughout the weekend, it is set to be dominated by scattered showers.
Despite the gloomy weekend, Met Eireann has forecast that moving into the week sunny weather will start to push through more with only some isolated showers. Here is the forecast for the coming days:
Friday morning is set to be a dull and misty one, however, it'll become increasingly sunny with scattered showers today, with highest temperatures reaching between 14C to 18C in light westerly or variable breezes.
Clear spells tonight will give way to mostly cloudy conditions building from the west, with a little patchy rain on coasts. The lowest temperatures will be 7C to 11C in light variable breezes.
There'll be good sunny spells, Saturday, with scattered showers in the afternoon, a few heavy. Highest temperatures of 15C to 19C in light southeasterly or variable breezes.
There'll be clear spells and isolated showers at first on Saturday night before cloudier conditions and showery rain develops later. The lowest temperatures will be 8C to 11C in light southerly or variable breezes.
Showery rain on Sunday morning will clear eastwards to leave a day of sunny spells and widespread showers, some heavy. The highest temperatures will be between 15C to 18C, coolest along Atlantic coasts as light southwesterly breezes gradually increase moderate westerly.
Any lingering showers will die out and Sunday night will be mainly dry. The lowest temperatures will be 7C to 9C in mostly light westerly winds.
Sunny spells and scattered showers for Monday, with most areas becoming dry by evening. Highest temperatures of 15C to 18C generally in a light to moderate northwesterly wind, a degree or so cooler in parts of Ulster due to that northwesterly wind.
Tuesday looks like it will continue mainly dry with light winds, rather cloudy at times with the best of the sunny spells in the south.
Current indications suggest that there will be a good deal of dry and at times sunny weather through to midweek with just isolated showers. Temperatures will continue to reach the mid to high teens with mostly light winds.
