Met Eireann has extended its weather warnings to a further two counties, Laois and Offaly, as the country gets set to be battered by torrential rain and thunderstorms over the coming hours.
A Status Orange Rain warning for Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow will take effect from 12am Wednesday until 12am Thursday morning as heavy rain, and the possibility of thundery downpours lead to localised flooding.
Disruption is also likely in Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, and Tipperary, where a Yellow Rain warning will come into effect at 12am Wednesday and last until 12am Thursday.
