Mesmerizing vortexes swirl near an Antarctic volcano | Space photo of the day for May 12, 2026

The winds across Antarctica's frozen landscape have carved incredible, swirling vortexes in the clouds above the icy terrain.

These vortexes were spotted all the way from space, by NASA's Landsat 8 satellite.
