A seaside pub in Merseyside has been named one of the best in the UK and been given a national award.
The Windmill in Southport was nominated in the North West category for Pub and Bar of the Year in the National Pub and Bar Awards. On Wednesday, June 28, it was announced they did not win the category, where they were up against The Brown Horse Inn, in Cumbria, The Crown and Kettle in Greater Manchester, The Swan at Marbury in Cheshire and The White Bull at Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire.
But even though the top spot was taken by The Swan at Marbury in Cheshire, The Windmill was one of just 94 venues across the country making the prestigious list.
