Stagecoach drivers in Merseyside have decided to cancel a planned strike.
The industrial action was scheduled for Thursday, June 30, less than a week after rail strikes affected trains across Merseyside. The pay dispute involved 370 members of Unite, the UK's leading union, employed as bus drivers and engineers at Stagecoach's Gilmoss depot.
The members decided to cancel the upcoming strike due to the new pay offer on Monday, June 27, and if the new pay offer is rejected, the strike on Monday will go ahead. An update on the Stagecoach website said: “We are pleased to advise customers that following constructive talks with Unite, the proposed industrial strike action to take place in Liverpool on Thursday, June 30 has now been cancelled, and therefore, all services on this date will operate as normal.
