A Merseyside beach has been named as one of the best in the UK.
A recent poll by the Guardian named Crosby Beach as one of the most stunning beaches in the UK. The beach which is famous for its Anthony Gormley statues Another Place captures the hearts of everyone who visits.
Crosby Beach was featured alongside some stiff competition including Seaburn Beach in Tyne and Wear and Chapel Porth Beach in Cornwall.

The beach has so much to offer and the six-mile stretch of sand provides great views of the Wirral and the North Wales hills. Located at the start of the 22-mile Sefton Coastal Path, and thanks to its close proximity to the Port of Liverpool, it is an ideal place to look out for container and cruise ships.
However, its star attraction helping to make this beach so unique is the permanent outdoor art installation of 100 cast-iron, life-sized figures that spread for miles along the coast. Each figure is 189 cm tall and is cast replicas of the artist’s own body. Although they are the same it is worth exploring as some can appear quite different due to being covered in barnacles and seaweed.
Last year a treasure trove of bricks, stones, and ceramics belonging to buildings that were bombed during the Blitz, were found on the beach. Much of it is thought to have been transported to the beach for use in sea defences and has since been uncovered.
The beach has also become the haunt of A-list celebrities in February 2022 Game of Thrones Star Emilia Clarke revealed she has fallen in love with Liverpool as she enjoyed a trip to Crosby Beach. Emilia shared snaps on Crosby Beach alongside Anthony Gormley's iconic Iron Men.
While it may not have the glamour of the exotic beaches of Barbados or Miami, Crosby Beach has its own charm that people can't help to get swept away in as proven by the recent poll.
