Meningitis cases in latest outbreak likely to increase, chief scientist warns

The number of confirmed meningitis cases in the Kent outbreak is expected to increase, according to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
Professor Robin May, UKHSA's chief scientific officer, confirmed 20 cases so far, with additional cases currently under investigation.
The outbreak, linked to a nightclub in Canterbury, has been described as 'very unusual' due to the large number of cases stemming from a single event.
