Today in court, 51 men were found guilty of charges of rape and one charge of sexual assault in connection with the aggravated rape of Gisèle Pelicot. However, it was revealed that at least five of the men will be walking free from court this evening due to various circumstances.
Some of the accused had already served prison time, while others were handed suspended sentences, leading to their immediate release. Presiding Judge Roger Arata explained that several of the convicted men would not be taken to prison right away due to health reasons. He mentioned that they would have a few more days of freedom while suitable prison arrangements are made.
