There were dramatic scenes in Dublin on Wednesday and Thursday as gardaí arrested seven people amid a huge series of drugs raids across the capital. Gardaí seized drugs in excess of €2 million following the intelligence led operations conducted across the Dublin Region.
The units were targeting drug trafficking networks operating at an international level on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, assisted by officers from within the Dublin Region, searched a residential premises in Beaumount, Dublin 9. In the course of this search, a number of bottles of wine and champagne were located and seized. Following technical examination it is suspected the seized bottles contain cocaine in liquid form. The cocaine seized is estimated to have a street value in excess of €150,000.
