Men arrested on suspicion of dealing crack cocaine and heroin over phone line

Two men have been arrested and were being questioned today on suspicion of drug-dealing in south Manchester, police have revealed.

The men - aged 20 and 23 - were held after police swooped on a house early on Thursday morning on Barlow Road in Levenshulme. Greater Manchester Police confirmed both men were arrested on suspicion of 'drugs offences' not further described.

The force said they are suspected of using a mobile phone to advertise the supply of crack cocaine to addicts.

GMP revealed images of one of the men being taken from his home and put into the back of a police van as they advertised the arrests on social media.

In a statement, GMP Fallowfield, Withington and Levenshulme said: "Two men, aged 20 and 23, have been arrested by officers from our County Lines Team earlier this morning at a house on Barlow Road in Levenshulme on suspicion of drug offences.

"They're suspected of using a mobile phone to advertise the supply of crack cocaine and heroin to vulnerable people who suffer from addiction.

"Both the men are now in our cells waiting to be questioned." No further information has been revealed and both men haven't been named.
