Coronation Street’s Melanie Hill has sensationally quit the soap to spend more time with her family.
The actress, who plays newsagent Cathy Matthews, made the “extremely emotional” decision to walk away after taking stock of her life, post-Covid.
Melanie, who turned 60 this year, admitted: “It’s not been an easy thing to decide. My family has been important but the pandemic has made a lot of people think about the future.
