Melania Trump was left listening as Donald Trump joked that their marriage was 'not going to do that well' compared with his parents' 63‑year union during a televised welcome for King Charles and Queen Camilla at the White House on Tuesday, 28 April.

The remark came during a carefully choreographed celebration of the royal couple's state visit to the United States, only days after an alleged assassination attempt on the President at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
