Megyn Kelly slams Kardashian family as a 'force for evil' who have 'disgusting vanity'

Megyn Kelly has suggested that the Kardashian family are "a force for evil," crediting them with having been "hugely responsible" for a focus on "ego, clicks and likes" in society.

The TV presenter, 51, took aim at the reality TV family - headed by matriarch Kris Jenner, 66 - on a recent episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, in which they were discussed.

She questioned the impact the likes of Kim Kardashian, 41, have on society, saying they have "unrivaled vanity" and promote an "out-of-control focus" on social media likes.

Megyn - who interviewed the family for TODAY in 2017 - said during her show that she doesn't "really object" to women embracing their bodies or showing off their physiques.

She said: "What I object to, back to like the Kardashians, is the unrivaled vanity. The self promotional out-of-control focus on oneself, ego, clicks, likes.

"They're hugely responsible for that in our society. They didn't do it by themselves, but more than any other, they've had a terrible effect in that lane, and I do blame them."

Megyn recalled her past interview with the family, in which she asked them about the perception that their photos drive people towards "superficial goals that are unattainable".

She asked them: "Are you a force for good or a force for evil?" Kim responded to the question by saying that they have "shown so much more positive things" than superficiality.

Reflecting on the interview now, Megyn said last week: "They gave me their answer, but the more I've watched them over the years, the more I think net net it's evil".

She shared her view that it seems 'unhealthy,' saying that their "disgusting vanity" has "spread like wildfire" in society. She added: "The selfie culture is abhorrent to me".

Megyn said during the recent episode of her talk show that it is that culture she objects to, rather than "some [occasional] titilation" from a woman on social media.

The Mirror approached the Kardashian-Jenner family's rep for comment.
