Meghan Markle WOULD have come to Coronation if it had helped her 'personal brand'

Meghan Markle WOULD have come to King Charles' coronation next month if she believed it would help her personal brand, a royal expert has claimed.

It has been confirmed Prince Harry will attend his father's Coronation, while wife Meghan will remain in California with her two children to celebrate Archie's fourth birthday, which also falls on May 6.

And while Meghan's decision to remain home is thought to be in part influenced by Archie's birthday, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claims the Duchess would have gone if she thought it would benefit the Sussexes' "brand".

But he said that the rogue royal, who is feared to be putting Britain behind her and focusing entirely on the US, now sees herself as "totally distanced" from the rest of the royal family.

He said: "Meghan was asked to the Coronation but her decision not to go is clearly evidence that she regards herself as totally distanced from the royal family.

"She has the excuse of Archie's birthday, but if she thought it would benefit their brand, she would be there."

He added to the Mail: "We know Harry will attend alone, according to Omid Scobie it appears he will only attend the ceremony and his visit will be fleeting. It doesn't seem there will be much if any chance for even the beginnings of any reconciliation."

Friends have said Meghan sees her future based in the US and that is where she is very much focused, meaning public events in Britain will take a back seat.

PR and brand expert Nick Ede told MailOnline he believes Meghan is in the process of separating herself from the royals - for her own benefit.

Since she and Harry stepped down as working members of the Royal family in 2020 she has only crossed the pond three times.

Eric Schiffer, Chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, told Insider that the negative impact of Meghan's choice not to go to the Coronation will be "negligible" - and most notably in the United States.

He said: "The impact to Meghan on a global scale in not attending is negligible and won't damage her brand outside of the UK."

The Duchess of Sussex has been notably absent from events this year, including Prince Harry's promotional tour for his memoir, Spare.

Apart from releasing official photos in March of a trip to Los Angeles to support a charity supporting homeless pregnant women, Meghan's performed her very own vanishing act.

Reports suggest she is also planning her next steps.

Royal expert and former royal correspondent, Gordon Rayner, writes in The Telegraph : "The answer, it seems, can be summed up in three words: planning, parenting and regrouping."

Rumours have surfaced that she may write a book, as part of Harry's multi-volume deal with Penguin Random House, but it is reported she will more likely take her own steps in TV, podcasting and blogging.

During her acting career she set up a lifestyle blog called The Tig, something she described as “a really successful business”.

Mr Rayner says Meghan "grieves" for The Tig, which she had to give up when she entered royal life.

But now, unrestrained by The Firm, last month a patent application to revive the website was given preliminary approval by US authorities.

So fans should expect to see a coming wave of content “in the fields of food, cooking, recipes, travel, fashion, style, lifestyle, the arts, culture, design, conscious living, and health and wellness”, as well as “commentary on the field of personal relationships”.

The Sussexes' biographer Omid Scobie has said Archie's birthday "played a factor" in the decision to stay away.
