As revealed in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's explosive Netflix documentary, Meghan has always set her sights on being a star. In the second episode of Harry and Meghan, she revisits her school and reads out a message she wrote when she was 11 revealing she always wanted to be "rich and famous".
Talking to her former principal, Ms Debby, who she greeted with a big hug, Meghan read out a note she wrote Ms Debby when she was 11. She said: "I can't thank you enough. Even though I was at this school for ten years I wish I could have stayed for ten more. PS when I am rich and famous and I write my life story, I will talk about you and the school so you will be known worldwide."
Laughing after reading the note, Meghan has kept to her promise, featuring Ms Debby and the school in the Netflix documentary., for which she and Harry reportedly got paid a huge amount. She said "my entire identity was wrapped up in being the smart one" and explained how as an 11-year-old she campaigned for a dishwasher advert to be changed as she found it sexist. Meghan described herself as "the little activist" in school.
Meghan and Harry stepped down as working royals in 2020 and since then have had a fractured relationship with the royal family. After a huge interview with Oprah Winfrey, where Harry and Meghan said the royal family were racist, the couple has gone on to have a six-episode Netflix deal explaining why they left their roles as active royals.
The documentary is expected to cover the backlash they received from leaving the royal family and includes interviews with Meghan's mum Doria and Meghan's former agent.
