Meghan Markle's subtle gesture to not upstage William and Kate before family breakup

Meghan Markle made a subtle gesture to "restrain" any form of tension being bubbled to the surface in an old interview with the former "fab four".

The fab four - a tag made by royal fans to describe Prince Harry and Meghan and Prince William and Kate Middleton - would often attend events and conduct interviews together as a display of unity before going their separate ways.

The four made an appearance at the Make a Difference Together forum in London back in 2018, which was the first time Meghan publicly represented the Royal Foundation, which was launched in 2011 by William and Harry.

Despite their high spirits at the event, body language expert Judi James has revealed that there were signs from early on that there were "problems" between them.

"With this launch of the ‘fab four’ it’s the moment when the two couples are asked about any disagreements and the spontaneous outbreak of embarrassed body language suggests there are already clashes and conflicts behind the calm smiles," Judi exclusively told The Mirror.

She was able to make a note of the tension from Harry, which suggested there was a problem between the couples, whereas, Meghan sat with "smiling encouragement" at the Cambridges, so as to not upstage the royal duo.

"Harry’s body language is suggesting a problem, while Meghan sits listening politely, smiling encouragement at the Cambridges and barely moving - as an actress she would understand the rules about not upstaging," Judi explains.

"Harry looks in the depths of a sulk. His hands are clasped in a fig-leaf pose and he looks glumly down at his lap rather than performing any active listening and agreement signals.

"When the interview comes to Meghan, however, she goes off like a rocket of confidence and passion, but there are also a whole volley of cues concerning hair-touching that are, at the same time, suggesting self-awareness, coyness and even a desire to hide."

Judi goes on to note a "polite restraining gesture" that Meghan makes to Harry that could denote that something "more serious" happened between the brothers.

"Her hair-touching is frequent and involves the hair around her face. At one point, when they are asked about disagreements, William, Kate and Harry pull faces but they keep their faces revealed to the camera.

"Meghan’s reaction is totally different, she touches Harry’s arm in what looks like a polite restraining gesture and then repeats the cut-off ritual by covering her face with one hand," Judi adds.

"It’s as though she might have seen any disagreements between the brothers as something serious, to keep her feelings hidden about. While the others giggle and smirk, Meghan seems to have sensed this is something more serious, despite the fact that she is also seen giggling."
