Over the past few weeks, A-list celebrities have been wearing Australian brands left, right and centre. Last week, it was Meghan Markle on her Australian tour and Meryl Streep in Bared Footwear. The week before, it was Alix Earle in the same footwear brand and Hailey Bieber in CSB. Now, a range of household names are turning to none other than affordable Aussie brand DISSH.
DISSH is a Gold Coast-born brand that originally started out as a very ‘of the time’ brick and mortar store back in 2001. Since then, it has had a MAJOR rebrand, and has become known for its signature minimalist style and tailoring that can slot neatly into a capsule wardrobe.
The brand’s cool corporate girl aesthetic has worked its way into Meryl Streep’s wardrobe for The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour. Appearing on Good Morning America in NYC, Streep wore the brand’s Romy Cream Barrel Leg Tailored Pants ($159.99), a fun and modern spin on a classic white wide leg pant, altering the silhouette with a slight balloon leg.

Her stylist Micaela Erlanger used the cream coloured trouser to offset her very loud accents of red, including a croc pattern red leather coat, red sunglasses reminiscent of Anna Wintour‘s iconic frames (because what’s The Devil Wears Prada without an ode to Wintour?), a red striped shirt and vibrant heels to complete the look.
DISSH’s tailored pants seem to be a crowd favourite among the notorious names stepping out in the brand. During her tour of Australia last week, the Duchess of Sussex opted for a more traditional look than Streep.

Her trouser of choice was the Parker Black Tailored Wide Leg Pant ($149.99), a simple but chic black trouser that Meghan paired with a Beare Park Merino Long Sleeve Top ($360) for a polished, quietly luxurious look.
DISSH was just one of many Australian brands the Duchess of Sussex wore during her week Down Under. She was also spotted in labels like Rollas, Scanlan Theodore and Friends With Frank. Royal expert Myka Meier told Now To Love that “it’s a sign of respect” and a way for royals to show “support for the country they are visiting”.
While Meryl Streep and Meghan Markle are the two most recent celebrities to be seen wearing DISSH, other famous names have also been papped in the brand recently. Actress Jennifer Lawrence has previously been seen walking the streets of New York City in a plain black DISSH blazer, integrating the staple into her effortlessly cool style. She wore it with a simple black midi skirt from another Aussie brand — Deiji Studios — and ballet flats. Very actress-off-duty chic!
On the flip side is Kendall Jenner, who leaned more towards DISSH’s vacation aesthetic. She styled the now sold-out Sue Sleeveless Cotton-Knit Maxi Dress as a beach cover-up over the top of a bikini, proving the Aussie label can move seamlessly from polished corporate tailoring to effortless resortwear.

We’re taking this as another big win for Australian fashion!
