Meghan Markle has 'disrespected the Queen', blasts Donald Trump in bitter rant

Meghan Markle was "very disrespectful" to the late Queen, former US President Donald Trump has claimed during a fiery rant.

The 76-year-old said he was shocked to find out Prince Harry had been invited to his father's Coronation this weekend following tensions between the Duke of Sussex and the Royal Family.

Harry will be attending the historic event in Westminster Abbey, while Meghan remains at home in California with their two children.

In a new interview, Trump said the Coronation will be a "great day" for King Charles.

"I think that they will do a great job and he loves the country, really loves the country and he loved his mother.

"I thought she was treated so disrespectfully by Meghan and there was just no reason to do that. I was actually surprised that Harry was invited to be honest."

Explaining his comments during an interview with GB News, he continued: "How can you be so disrespectful to the Queen?

"She was incredible, for decades and decades she never made a mistake. I cannot think of a mistake she made, she was never controversial.

"She went through years and decades without controversy. You cannot be disrespectful to her and I think Meghan was very disrespectful to her, very disrespectful."

Trump also claimed Harry had written some "horrible" things about his family in his memoir Spare.

Meghan first met the late Queen at Windsor Castle, where the two women were said to have instantly hit it off after talking about the actress' work and life in Canada.

The visit lasted about 20 minutes, during which time it's claimed the Queen told Meghan she could continue her acting career if she wished.

In his book Elizabeth: An intimate Portrait, Prince Philip's close friend Gyles Brandreth claims Meghan told the Queen that she wanted to focus her efforts on royal duties.

"Meghan was ready for royal duty and, of course, the Queen was delighted by that.

"She was particularly delighted by the enthusiasm Meghan showed for the Commonwealth and the commitment she made to the Queen to do 'whatever you think we should be doing for the Commonwealth'," he wrote.
