Meghan Markle had a one word answer for Prince William’s response to her and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duchess of Sussex simply said ‘wow’ as her husband showed her a text message from his brother in the wake of their controversial tell all with the US chat show host last year.
A number of bombshells came from the interview - as well as revealing the sex of baby daughter Lilibet, who Meghan was pregnant with at the time, the couple opened up about life behind palace walls, issued claims of “racism” within the royal family, while Harry claimed his father and brother were “trapped” in the system and he’d only been able to leave because of Meghan.
But as the world debated the explosive revelations and the possible reaction of the Royal Family, the latest episode of Harry & Meghan provides a small insight into what went on after the show hit screens, as writes the Mirror.
With the remaining instalments of the Netflix documentary released at 8am this morning (Thursday) episode six features a scene where Harry is at home in California and receives a text from Prince William following the programme being aired.
Meghan can be seen speaking to a friend, movie producer and director Tyler Perry, reading out the full statement which was issued by the late Queen Elizabeth after the couple stepped down from royal duties in 2020.
Harry approaches Meghan carrying his phone and holds it up to her.
Meghan looks at the phone, asks “what am I looking at?” before saying “wow”.
Meghan then excuses herself from Perry, who loaned his $18m LA mansion to the couple when they first fled the UK, by saying “H just got a text from his brother”.
Shortly before the scene, Tyler says in regards to the interview: “When I watched it, I thought 'there's so much more she could have said, but because she's such a classy, elegant woman, she didn’t.”
Further bombshells from the new episodes include Harry revealing in episode five that he had a “terrifying” meeting with Prince William and his father, the then Prince of Wales, about his and Meghan’s plans for the future before they officially announced they were stepping down.
Harry said: “It became very clear very quickly that that goal wasn’t up for discussion or debate.
“It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that simply weren’t true.”
