Meghan Markle gushes Beyoncé 'admires my bravery' as she reveals private texts

Meghan Markle has revealed that Beyoncé Knowles messaged her to see if she was OK, following her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The A-list anecdote was part of the next three episodes of Meghan and Prince Harry’s Netflix documentary, that saw the aftermath of their Oprah interview in 2021.

In the emotional discussion, Meghan opened up about her mental health struggles and revealed that she had suicidal thoughts in her worst moments.

As the couple watched back the interview together from the comfort of their own home, Meghan video called her mother, before she noticed a text from the other Queen - Queen Bey.

“Beyoncé just text,” Meghan gasped, as Harry turned to look down the camera in shock and raised his hands in surprise. Before he replied: “Shut up. Just checking in?”

“Just checking in. I still can’t believe she knows who I am,” Meghan added, as she started to giggle at the surprising message from the Single Ladies singer.

Meghan went on to read out Beyonce ’s heart-felt message in which she wrote that the Duchess of Sussex was “selected to break generational curses” it seems in the Royal Family and society.

“She said she wants me to feel safe and protected,” Meghan continued, “She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability. And she thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”

“That’s well said,” Harry said as he looked reflectively away from the camera.

In the chat with her mother, Doria, Meghan asked if she had any paparazzi around the house and if she was doing ok.

Doria said she was “very proud” of Meghan for opening up about the difficult periods in her mental health especially, and had lots of text messages of support.

Before she added that Meghan needed to keep her “big girl pants on” to deal with it all and Meghan joked she would keep her biggest pants on.
