Meghan Markle appears to shade Kate Middleton as 'Princess dream' resurfaces in old blog post

Pre-royal life Meghan Markle posted on her popular personal blog named 'The Tig.'

Taking its name from the Italian wine Tignanello, the website was a self-confessed "passion project" where the actress at the time offered tips, advice and ideas on everything ranging from food and travel to lifestyle and beauty.

Now, amid rumours that The Tig is set to make a return, comments Meghan made about Kate Middleton and the princess "dream" little girls hold have resurfaced.

The former Suits star closed the blog five years ago when she became a member of the royal family.

It had become clear to fans of The Tig that Meghan and Prince Harry were a serious couple when she gave up her personal website in 2017, the year after they met.

However, in a strange coincidence, she had already written about Kate Middleton, prior to them coming into contact.

In 2014, Meghan spoke about her future sister-in-law and shared her thoughts on what it was to be a princess.

Posting a series of interviews with fellow celebrities, she chatted to Princess Alia Al-Senussi, patron of the arts and member of the Libyan royal family.

Meghan wrote that "little girls dream of being princesses" in an eery premonition to her future.

She wrote: "Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power. And grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy."

Meghan then wrote of her future sister-in-law: "Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate."

The now Duchess of Sussex was referring to Kate's 2011 wedding to Prince William, which was attended by many high-profile celebrities, leaders and the full Royal Family.

Meghan also explained that she was excited to be introduced to Princess Alia Al Senussim describing it as a '"pinch-myself-I’m-emailing-with-a-princess' moment".

The couple stepped down from the Roya family in 2020 (PA)

She then gave Princess Alia a list of questions such as what is her nickname and what the first thing she does when she wakes up.

Recent reports from the US have suggested that Meghan may re-open The Tig following the King's Coronation on May 6.

Meghan ran the blog between 2014 and 2017.

The website described itself as “a hub for the discerning palate – those with a hunger for food, travel, fashion and beauty”.

It was packed with recipes, travel guides, beauty advice and interviews with high-flying female stars.

In her final post, Meghan told readers she'd had 'three beautiful years of adventure'.

She previously renewed The Tig's trademark in 2019 prompting speculation she could be planning to relaunch the defunct site.

However, a spokesperson claimed a the time the move was designed to "prevent false branding, to avoid others purporting to be the Duchess or affiliated with her".
