Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spotted watching parade as Archie clutches US flag

Onlookers at a trendy ski resort in the US spotted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoying the nation’s Independence Day celebrations with their son Archie clutching a US flag, it has emerged.

Prince Harry and wife Meghan were seen watching the July 4 parade in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with three-year-old son Archie as well as members of a security team and friends.

Pictures of the couple enjoying the trip were shared on social media, although they were later deleted.

Harry, 37, seemed to be wearing a polo shirt and dark trousers while Meghan chose skinny jeans, a white Fedora and a white tank top for the visit.

Archie meanwhile was very patriotic, clad in a red, white and blue cap as he held an American flag while enjoyed a lollipop.

A Facebook post uploaded by a fellow visitor read: “Funny story...we are in Jackson Hole WY at their 4th July Parade.

“The big tough guy told us twice that he was saving seats for his family. I'm ok already, do you want us to move? (which of course we wouldn't do).

“He said ‘oh No, I just want you to know.’

“I thought, well it must be the royal family (very sarcastic thinking!) A minute later Meghan Markle and Prince Harry walk up with little Archie!

"The big guy was the bodyguard. Meghan is gorgeous and Harry and Archie are cute.

“We were right next to them and their friends. I could have whispered in her ear he was so close! We were cool and didn't bother them, but you could tell they were not from Wyoming!"

Several celebs have visited the town in recent years, including Kanye West.

The Sussexes visit for the July 4th parade comes two years after their own independence as they quit their lives as senior working royals.

Meanwhile Prince Harry's claims he should have received Met Police armed bodyguards will be heard in court today as he sues the Home Office.

The row over UK security and police protection will be held at the Royal Courts of justice in London before Mr Justice Swift and it is unlikely that the Duke of Sussex will attend in person.

Harry and Meghan have started a new life in the United States having left the UK more than two years ago.

The Duke’s argument is that he now feels “unsafe” when travelling back to the UK and wants to fund his own Met Police armed bodyguards but this has been refused by the Home Office.

He has his private protection team in the US but says that they don’t have the jurisdiction in the UK to access intelligence information that he feels is necessary for the protection of his family.

The hearing today will decide whether the case can proceed and if there is a sufficient case in order to go to trial.
