Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's next career moves as Spotify deal ends

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly 'done' with releasing bombshell revelations in the forms of books and interviews.

Over the last few years, the royal couple have made shocking accusations about the Royal Family when they chatted with Oprah Winfrey and when Prince Harry released his book, Spare.

Accusations include members of the Royal Family sharing 'concerns' about their baby Archie's skin colour before he was born, as well as Harry's relationship with his brother Prince William.

Since leaving their roles as senior working members of the Royal Family, the Duke and Duchess signed up for lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.

But, Meghan's Spotify podcast Archetype was recently axed after a single season. While there were rumours their deal with Netflix was due to end, but those have since been squashed as Harry is reportedly working on a new documentary with the streaming giant.

In mid-June, a joint statement read: "Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together."

During Thursday's episode of Good Morning Britain, royal correspondent and author Valentine Low discussed Prince Harry and Meghan's future.

Host Susanna Reid asked: "What do you think Harry and Meghan are going to do next in America? Is there going to be a book written by Meghan about her experience in the Royal Family? We know the lost Spotify Netflix deals… what is the thinking in the royal family about what might face them next?"

He responded: "I think Harry and Meghan do want to move on. I’ve spoken to their people who, basically, in terms of accusations against the Royal Family, they say ‘we’re done, we’ve done that'."

Co-host Ben Shephard questioned: "So no more revelations?" as Susanna added: "No more bombshells?"

"It’s not that there won’t be any shots because there might be shots… but I don’t think that there will be a concerted thing like a book or a programme or a big interview. They’ve learned… Meghan’s not stupid," Valentine said.

"She knows you’ve got to do something positive now, you can’t carry on harking on that same negative message."

Over the course of the podcast, Meghan spoke with guests including Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, and more. It was rumoured that Taylor Swift had received an invite to be on the show, but declined.

According to the Wall Street Journal, staff from Archewell said that the show "often lacks direction". They also said that Prince Harry and Meghan "seem surprised by the work required to finish entertainment projects".

Plus, it was reported that they would not be getting the full payout of their deal. Reports suggest the pair didn't make enough content to meet that quota.

Spotify executive, Bill Simmons, called Harry and Meghan "grifters" on his own podcast. He also said he had a Zoom call with Harry to brainstorm on podcast ideas.
