Meghan Markle and Prince Harry thought it was "important" to show they're "not rattled" by their eviction from Frogmore Cottage as they "let their hair down", according to reports.
An insider has said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were finally able to "get back to enjoying themselves again" as they headed to an exclusive members club in Los Angeles earlier this month.
The source said: "They've been trying to find time for more of these types of date nights, which isn't easy given their intense schedules as well as raising the kids.
"But this was something they freed themselves up for and the word is that it was important to send a message that they're not rattled or letting this Frogmore situation get to them."
The insider also said the Royal couple had needed to go out on a date night in order to feel like themselves again.
"They let their hair down in a fun environment and had a blast, it was a much needed outing to let off steam and get back to enjoying themselves again," the source told US Weekly.
Harry and Meghan were spotted enjoying themselves at the £3,500-a-year San Vicente Bungalows earlier this month after it was revealed they had been asked to move out of their UK home by King Charles.
The King is said to have made the decision to remove them from the Windsor property as the Sussex's relationship with the Royal Family hasn't improved.
The decision is reported to have left Harry and Meghan "stunned", while two other members of the Royal Family are allegedly "appalled".
A spokesperson for the couple has since confirmed they were "requested to vacate" the property.
According to Meghan and Harry's unofficial biographer Omid Scobie, the decision to evict the couple came just days after the Duke of Sussex released his controversial memoir Spare.
He said the couple was told the property was needed for "someone else" and that relations between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Firm was at "an all-time low".
