Palace staff have handed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry yet another unflattering nickname ahead of the release of their highly-anticipated Netflix show, insiders have claimed.
Earlier this week the streaming service dropped a dramatic trailer for Harry and Meghan, showing tears and emotional interviews in which the couple say they should be allowed to tell their side of the story.
The couple are expected to make a number of claims against The Firm in the six-part series, which drops on Thursday, however insiders have told The Mirror King Charles and Prince William's staff plan to react swiftly to any damaging accusations against the monarchy.
As they gear up for the release, the source claims insiders have nicknamed the couple 'The Kardashians" because “they want all the attention they can possibly get”.
It's the latest in a series of unflattering nicknames handed to the couple behind Palace walls, including Duchess Difficult for Meghan.
The source says: "There is a completely united front from the King and his family concerning the numerous attempts to privately make peace with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which sadly have once again resulted in the other side wishing to air their repeated grievances to the world.
"If there is a need to respond to anything in the upcoming series then you can be assured that response will be swift and robust."
Netflix has already been criticised for dropped the dramatic one-minute trailer during the Prince and Princess of Wales' three-day tour to Boston for William's Earthshot Prize Ceremony - one of the biggest things in their diary.
Royal sources said the “churlish” decision was done to deliberately torpedo William and Kate’s US trip, which concluded last night with them hosting the Prince’s environmental awards.
