It can increase its statistics with moves like Iron Defense and Swords Dance, which make it a tough wall that can deal serious damage as well. Its coverage options include:
- Rock Slide: One-hit-KO potential against Charizard and Mega Charizard Y
- Earthquake/Dig: Strong against Steel- and Fire-types, notably Metagross and Excadrill
- Poison Jab/Iron Head: High damage potential against Xerneas
- Hammer/Close Combat: Strong STAB options
