Meet the ‘extraordinary’ women who donated their hearts to science

Three women have described donating their hearts to medical research at the same time as they received life-saving transplants.

The organs have helped scientists move a step closer to a cure for heart failure, as well as supporting a number of other projects such as creating new lab-grown heart valves.
